Summer Dance Workshop 2010
From Saturday 21 until Wednesday 25 August we organize the Summer Dance Workshop for dancers (from 11 years on) and teachers. The workshop will take place at campus Wilrijk directions PDF.
For this edition de Kunsthumaniora DANS has composed a varied programme:

Dheeraj Asarfi – Moderne Jazzdans.
Dheeraj Asarfi studied at the Amsterdam School of the Arts, Jazz and Musical Dance. After having danced in musicals (West Side Story, Fame) and companies (Djazzex) abroad, he decided to become independent. Dheeraj has his own company DAP, in which he and his dancers work on innovating styles within hip-hop and jazz. He teaches at the big academies, Amsterdam Theatre school, Rotterdam Codarts and Tilburg Fontys. Dheeraj loves to work on musicality, timing, accents and precision. His style is characterized by high dynamism and lots of power and feeling.

Natascha Pire – Hedendaagse dans
As a creator and dancer/actor Natascha is truly fascinated by the story and personal language of the body. This season with Dirk De Lathouwer she has created the performance Everland (fABULEUS), in cooperation with guest choreographers Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Randi De Vlieghe, Mike Alvarez, Christophe Lequesne,... Among others Natascha is a teacher / choreographer at CODARTS, Amsterdam Dance Centre, etc. Her contemporary dance style is at once dynamic and articulated, with especially Limon and release technique as a basis. She departs from a personal and organic body language, that plays with contrast, energy, dynamics and tension lines, with a great preference for ground work.

Doron Raz – GAGA en Repertoire Ohad Naharin
Ohad Naharin danced in the Batsheva Ensemble for 4 years. Repetition for 1 year. Danced with Emmanuel Gatt Dance Company, Anat Danieli en Klipa Theatre. Choreographed 4 dance works for Israeli Dance Festivals. GAGA teacher for 6 years.

Jon Filip Fahlstrom – Repertoire van Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui
Jon Filip is 26 years old, Norwegian, but Philippine by origin. He studied at The School of Contemporary dance and The National Academy of the Arts in Norway. In 2006 he was choreographer and artist in the new circus project, PuuPääT in Switzerland. After graduating he worked with the Norwegian choreographer Ina Christel Johannesen, Iceland Dance Company and Carte Blanche before becoming part of Eastman company.

Ann Van Huffel – Pilates
She graduated as a dance teacher at the Hoger Instituut voor Dans en Danspedagogie Lier, where she now works as a Pilates Instructor. Having worked as a dancer and dance teacher for many years, she trained as ‘Certified Instructor in the Pilates Method’ in New York and the Hague. She studied a.o. with Romana Kryzanowska (herself a student of Joseph Pilates) and Marjorie Oron. Also she was a Pilates Instructor at De Pilates Studio® in The Hague. She did Triadball™ Pilates workshops with Michael Fritzke and Ton Voogt in Vienna and Oslo and pregnancy-Pilates with Rachel Swindle. In April 2006 and 2007 she attended the Body-Mind-Spirit Conference in Santa Clara, California. She runs the Pilates studio Pilates Works Pilates studio Pilates Works in Antwerpen and Mechelen.

Laurent Flament - Moderne Jazzdans
Educated in Liege, Amsterdam and New-York, Laurent took part in international dance contests such as "Concours International de Khoreia (Gold medal) or "Concours International de Charleville Mézière" (Gold medal). As a dancer, he joined the "Holland Show Ballet" in Amsterdam in 1998, then moved in the United States where he worked for Opryland Productions or Anita Mann Productions. Back in Europe in 2001, he worked for the choreographer Rheda in the musical "Romeo and Juliet", in the Flemish Opera and in the Royal Opera House (De Munt) where he worked with Bob Wilson. He also worked with choreographers like Bruno Agati (Carmen), Bruno Vandelli (Le grand classement), Michael Keegan-Dolan (Ariodante), Martino Müller (Notre Dame de Paris),....
As a choreographer, he worked for numerous events through Europe (Ing in Vienna, Porsche in Paris, Dexia in Brussels, Coca-Cola in Athens,...), mainly for the companies Brothers and Sisters and The Cast. He also worked for television (Dans Mondial, Tien om te zien, So you think you can dance,...) and theatre (West Side Story, Sound of music, Ubu Roi,...). In 2009, with the director Peggy Thomas he choreographed a dance/theatre piece which is selected for the international festival of Naples (Italy). . -
Douglas Becker – Klassieke dans voor hedendaagse dansers
Douglas Becker is a free lance choreographer and educator working in many idioms. As a former dancer with the Joffrey Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada and The Frankfurt Ballet, he played a pivotal role in the creation of many of Forsythe’s masterworks from 1985-1993. Douglas Becker has reconstructed numerous works by William Forsythe. His own choreography has been featured on the stages of Belgium’s Royal Flemish Theatre, Switzerland’s Grand Theatre de Genève, and the Choreographic Centers of Grenoble and Nancy in France. Mr. Becker has a broad resume teaching Ballet, Improvisation, and Forsythe Repertory for professional companies, festivals, and educational institutions such as: PARTS Brussels, New York University, The University of California Irvine, and The National Conservatory in Paris among others. Douglas Becker lives in Brussels where he works regularly for both the Flemish and French speaking communities. www.douglasbecker.be

Eva Dewaele – Klassieke dans
The talented and polyvalent dancer Eva Dewaele graduated in 1992 at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp. Eva danced with Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Luzerner Theater Zwitserland, Göteborg Operan Zweden, Cullberg Ballet of Stockholm, the Ballet of the Opera de Lyon. Since 2005 she has danced as First Soloist at the Royal Ballet of Flanders. Every season she makes her own creation for KBvV’s workshop ‘Coupe Maison. In 1999 Eva played and danced the main part in the short film ‘Passengers’ by director Markus Fischer and she now stars in his feature film ‘Marmorera’.

Filip Van Huffel - Contemporary dance
Filip Van Huffel Filip Van Huffel trained with a range of contemporary dance teachers around Europe. He danced for Claudio Bernardo, Air de C and Company Thor in Belgium, Frey Faust in Germany and Random Dance Company in London before co-founding Retina in ‘95. Retina has produced fifteen company works that have toured internationally and since 2000 Filip has worked as the sole artistic director. Independently, Filip is also regularly commissioned to create works for other companies, which have included several commissions for the South Bank Centre London, Artesis in Belgium, Akademi, Iudanza in Venezuela, Shobana Jeyasingh, StopGap, Ludus, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, X:ida Dance in Austria, EDge, the post-graduate company from London Contemporary Dance School and The Curve Foundation.
